SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk. News Nation 360: The state-owned Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Jindal India Power Limited, a division of the BC Jindal Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to purchase 8 lakh metric tonnes of premium coal from the Naini coal mine. SCCL, which is jointly owned by the governments of Telangana and India, will supply the fuel to improve the long-term energy security and operational effectiveness of Jindal's 1,200 MW power plant in Derang, Angul, Odisha, which has two separate 600 MW units that were put into service back in 2015. The 1952-founded conglomerate, led by promoter Shyam Sunder Jindal, operates in the steel, packaging film, and energy sectors. Through numerous short-, medium-, and long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with state distribution companies (DISCOMs) in Bihar, Haryana, Delhi, and Noida, its Odisha facility continuously increases its Plant Load Factor (PLF). The strategic alliance reflects the company's dedication to attaining operational excellence, fuel diversification, and sustainable future growth while establishing a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with SCCL, according to a representative for the BC Jindal Group.
