Students Discuss AI Surveillance and Privacy at BML Munjal University's National Moot Court Competition

News Desk, News Nation 360: Together with the host institution, BML Munjal University (BMU), the 5th National Inter-School Moot Court Competition, which brought together 84 student teams from 58 prestigious schools throughout India to discuss the constitutional ramifications of AI-driven surveillance on privacy, civil liberties, and democratic rights, was successfully organised by the Future Foundation School in Kolkata. Participants gave oral arguments interpreting Articles 14, 19, and 21 of a hypothetical constitutional framework for evaluation by a six-person panel from BMU's School of Law, which included teachers with advanced degrees from prestigious international and Indian law universities. Ashok Hall Girls Higher Secondary School, Kolkata, won the overall title after fierce appellate simulations. The BSS School, Kolkata, came in first runner-up, followed by Delhi Public School, Howrah and Asansol North Point School, which came in second and third, respectively. Tashi Namgyal Academy (Gangtok) and Vivekananda Mission School (Joka) were jointly named Most Promising Teams. The nationwide experiential learning program effectively exposed secondary school students to legal research, courtroom advocacy, and critical engagement with digital governance, as praised by BMU School of Law Dean Mathew John and The Future Foundation School Principal Suchandra Laha.
