The Bengali Feature Film "Ananda Ashram" Will Be Released Soon

News Desk, News Nation 360: Maa Durga Production is formally preparing for the eagerly awaited theatrical release of Ranjan Dutta's 157-minute Bengali feature film "Ananda Ashram," which is slated to open in theatres on July 31, 2026. At a lavish promotional event featuring new-generation playback singers Saptak Bhattacharya and Madhuri Dey, as well as seasoned Tollywood stars Bodhisattwa Majumdar, Shakti Dey, and Soma Chakraborty, the director unveiled the official trailer and soundtrack, showcasing the film's powerful, socially conscious story. The scenario, which is based on a story by Amal Chatterjee, centres on a small orphanage run by an elderly carer. The corrupt local MLA's ambitious real estate ambitions pose an existential threat to the sanctuary, leading to a violent resistance effort from the ashram officials. The film promises a compelling blend of emotional depth, civic resistance, and rich cinematic storytelling. It features a strong intergenerational ensemble cast, including Kaushik Banerjee and Laboni Sarkar alongside up-and-coming talents Subhajit Laha, Sayantika Dhar, and Rittika Mondal, and is supported by Sumit Acharya's evocative musical composition.
