The Calcutta Mahanagar Rotary Club Honoured the Spirit of Nava Shakti by Launching Initiatives that Empower Girls

News Desk, News Nation 360 : To empower girls and support women's problems, the Rotary Club of Calcutta Mahanagar successfully held the Spirit of Nava Shakti celebration. Distinguished speakers and thought leaders from a range of professions attended the celebration, which included thought-provoking conversations and the introduction of influential programs. The distinguished Shakti Samman Awards, which honour nine exceptional women who have achieved greatness in their vocations and who have championed the cause of empowering girls, were in addition to the panel discussion. These women continue to inspire and encourage countless young women, and they were recognised for their outstanding contributions to society. Anuradha Kapoor, Founder and Managing Trustee of Swayam; Daminee Benny Basu, Actor, Director, and Actor Trainer; and Gautam Mohan Chakrabarti, IPS, Ex-Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, were among the distinguished speakers who graced the occasion with a panel discussion on "Nava Shakti - Empowering Girls." The panel offered insightful commentary and shared personal experiences as they discussed important problems about gender equality, female empowerment, and the safety of young girls in contemporary society. Several Nava Uday program ideas were also introduced at the ceremony. To help thousands of girls in West Bengal, these initiatives include programs that address menstrual hygiene management, nutrition, cervical cancer awareness, and women's self-defence training. These programs demonstrate Rotary's dedication to enhancing girls' general safety and well-being, particularly in impoverished areas.
