The historic eatery, founded in 1910 by Shri Sushil Roy and now managed by Tapash Roy, has witnessed a rise in digital orders from 23,280 in 2020 to over 142,580 in 2025. The eatery is famous for its heritage dishes like Brain Chop, Fish Kabiraji, Gondhoraj Lime Chicken Pakoras, among others. The eatery has witnessed a significant change in its operations since partnering with Zomato. The operations of the eatery have been completely revamped with the help of Zomato. The eatery has witnessed a significant reduction in the time taken to prepare the dishes. The recipes of the dishes remain the same as they were a century ago. Aditya Mangla, the CEO of Zomato, said that the success story of Mitra Café is a beautiful amalgamation of tradition with innovation. The initiatives taken by Zomato have helped the eatery transform itself from a single-cuisine eatery to a multi-cuisine eatery that attracts octogenarians as well as the young. Zomato has helped the eatery achieve a monthly active restaurant partners of over 336,000 in Q3 FY26. Mitra Café is a flagship brand for Heritage restaurants.
