SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Financial strain, health troubles, work-life conflicts, and more general social problems are all contributing factors to the growing level of uncertainty among Indians. The national Uncertainty Index today stands at 79. Concerns about long-term stability, healthcare affordability, and financial preparedness persist despite economic advancements. Presently, Kolkata has an anxiety score of 85, which is above the average anxiety level of the country and the Eastern region. The major causes of this anxiety are the risks associated with safety and the escalating costs of healthcare, as well as a lack of preparedness for financial security in the long term. The major concerns of the citizens of Kolkata are the rising crime rate and the depletion of their savings due to inflation, as well as the high cost of taking care of their aged parents. This anxiety is also fueled by the fear of losing their jobs or falling seriously ill, and the difficulty of achieving financial independence during their retirement years. These trends are also reflected across different age groups and occupations, although married people with children feel slightly more anxious due to their family obligations. Socio-economically, the SEC B group reported the highest levels of anxiety, although this anxiety is also widespread across all socio-economic groups in Kolkata. Notably, the correlation between financial security and anxiety indicates that people with low levels of insurance coverage are much more anxious. Those with well-rounded investment and insurance plans feel much more secure and confident about their future. Ultimately, the escalating cost of living in Kolkata has made it necessary for a comprehensive plan that takes into account both protection and savings to be formulated for achieving peace of mind. As the citizens of Kolkata go through these various life phases, the need for high levels of financial preparedness is emerging as a major priority for maintaining a sense of security.
