News Desk, News Nation 360 : Twelve members of Waterstone College in Johannesburg, South Africa, are presently on a cricket series trip in India. The squad, which consists of high school students from one of the top schools in South Africa, played a 40-over red-ball cricket match against the Yuvraj Singh Centres of Excellence (YSCE) team at Merlin Rise today as part of their schedule. Talented athletes from the YSCE Under-13 and Under-15 teams were on the team. In 2021, Merlin Group and Yuvraj Singh Centres of Excellence (YSCE) worked together to create Eastern India's first and only YSCE. Since starting its general training program in 2023, the academy has grown rapidly to become a regional centre for aspiring cricket players. Saket Mohta, MD, Merlin Group, remarked that the Waterstone College team is coming to Merlin Rise with great excitement. These kinds of games give the young athletes at the Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence a great opportunity to develop and play against top players from around the world. These activities promote discipline, teamwork, and cultural awareness in addition to cricket-related skills, which aid in overall development. They are eager to develop our collaboration and spread the values of friendship and cricket over the world. This friendly match provided an exceptional opportunity for young cricketers from both nations to exhibit their skills, exchange insights, and build cross-cultural camaraderie through the universal language of sports.
