News Desk, News Nation 360: The Kidney Care Society collaborated with Nephrocare India to celebrate World Kidney Day 2026 today, March 13th, at The Stadel in Kolkata with a Scientific Symposium. The day was observed as per the international theme “Kidney Health for All – Caring for People, Protecting the Planet,” with expert discussions by renowned nephrologist Dr Pratim Sengupta, who was accompanied by Dr Tathagata Mukherjee, Dr Sourav Sadhukhan, Dr Prabhav Bansali, and Subhabrata Bhattacharjee. The discussions centred on the significance of timely diagnosis and preventive care for kidney patients. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Dilip Baidya, who addressed the audience of medical practitioners and the general public regarding the maintenance of creatinine levels, a review of the care process for CKD patients, and lifestyle changes to delay dialysis. Nephrocare India was founded in December 2021 by Dr Pratim Sengupta. The organisation works on a holistic principle of care for patients by integrating clinical data with physical, mental, and even spiritual well-being to provide comprehensive care to patients. Dr Sengupta emphasised the point that kidney disease is a “silent killer” and advised people to seek regular screening for serum creatinine and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) to prevent kidney disease at an early age to reduce the global burden of chronic kidney disease.
