SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: To commemorate World Sight Day 2026, Dakshini Prayash organized a free eye screening camp for its students, as part of the Lions District's worldwide 'Sight for Kids' program, initiated by the Lions Club of North Femina under the guidance of its Treasurer, Mrs. Anupama Prakash, aiming to prevent the detrimental effects of unrecognized vision problems on children's learning, reading and intellectual development, through specialized eye examinations conducted by medical professionals such as optometrist Dr. Mumtaz Begum, who performed refraction tests, provided health advice, and commented on the growing epidemic of digital eye strain, computer vision syndrome, myopia, and astigmatism impacting younger generations due to excessive screen time and inappropriate visual habits, while Principal Mrs. Mita Mitra reiterated the institution's commitment to the well-being of its students by stating that in addition to organizing weekly family clinics and routine medical check-ups, Dakshini Prayash ensures regular vitamin supplementation for all learners from Playgroup to Class X, to prevent deficiencies which may cause eye diseases, asserting that eye health, proper nutrition and responsible technology use are key factors in maintaining a good education.
