News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Young Boys Club of Central Kolkata is pleased to announce that "Ek Tukdo Aakash" will be the subject of their Durga Puja this year, in keeping with the festive season. This puja, which links Central Avenue and Rabindra Sarani, is easily accessible from Tara Chand Dutta Street in Central Kolkata and draws a lot of locals. Artist Souvik Kali's artistic vision for this year's mandapa will transport guests to a densely populated urban apartment complex. The pandal will use bamboo, wood, and iron to symbolise the pervasiveness of urbanisation, and the use of cement and brick will highlight the sharp contrast between modernity and tradition. Lighting designer Biswajit Saha will use shadow and light to produce a visually striking effect that represents the challenges faced by locals among this metropolitan environment. The idols, created by designer Parimal Pal, will pay homage to traditional craftsmanship and strengthen Bengal's rich cultural legacy. The concept of "Ek Tukdo Aakash" highlights the urgent issues related to Kolkata's urban growth, especially the emergence of tall structures that have changed the city's landscape and masked its scenic qualities. A growing number of people now have homes thanks to this development, but it has also resulted in a discernible loss of open space and natural light, hiding the blue sky behind concrete buildings more and more. Speaking to the media, Rakesh Singh, Chief Organiser of the Young Boys Club, stated that in addition to respecting the customs, they are bringing attention to the pressing need for discussion regarding the effects of urbanisation on the city as they commemorate the 55th Durga Puja. "Ek Tukdo Aakash" challenges all to consider the places to dwell while serving as a reminder of the beauty everyone is losing due to unrelenting growth.
