Academia Calls for Close Ties With the Industry

News Desk, News Nation 360 : To improve the future well-being of communities and countries, inclusive and sustainable education is crucial. Judging the parameters should be crucial for the same reason, as industry, government, society, and educational institutions must all operate together in perfect harmony. At the 3rd Education East Summit, which was hosted by CII Eastern Region in Kolkata today, Dr Mamta Rani Agarwal, Additional Secretary, AIU, former Adviser, AICTE, and former Joint Secretary, UGC, stated that the industry must step forward to provide better links for better academia to the kids. She added that skillset training, which is a hallmark of the future of education, is essential for matching up with future employment demands and successfully combining logical and creative thinking to improve capabilities. When hiring for freelancing positions, 85% of employers prioritise individuals' skill sets over their degrees, according to a recent

McKinsey poll, which showed a change in industry hiring practices. The World Economic Forum Report, Dr. Agarwal added, predicts that by 2027, 122 million new occupations requiring a variety of skill levels would replace 75 million manual and repetitive jobs. She underlined that the Indian educational system has put policies into place to integrate the Indian Knowledge System, produce a generation of fiercely competitive professionals, and provide bilingual education to get around regional restrictions. In the academic year 2021–2022, 126,535 Indian students enrolled in the UK, making it the second most popular destination behind the US, according to Andrew Alexander Fleming, Deputy High Commissioner, British Deputy High Commission. In addition, the UK granted 142,848 student visas to Indian nationals the year before, which shows a significant rise in these numbers. When it comes to sending students to the UK, India has overtaken China. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is currently changing the educational landscape in India. By internationalising India's educational system, this policy hopes to draw in more foreign students. Additionally, Western students must think about India when pursuing higher education.
