News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently in Kolkata, Dakshini Prayash, an organisation that started 32 years ago under a tree to give free healthcare and education to the most economically disadvantaged people, commemorated its 32nd Foundation Day. Students honoured the occasion with a colourful dance production that emphasised the significance of the East Kolkata Wetlands. Dakshini Prayash's numerous projects demonstrate their dedication to environmental sustainability. "East Kolkata Wetlands: Ecology and Economy" was the theme this year. Students have learnt about the importance of these wetlands for Kolkata and the rest of the world through workshops. The pupils' dance drama eloquently conveyed the concept of wetlands and their vital role in preserving ecological balance. Dakshini Prayash has grown into a prominent institution over the past three decades, providing free, comprehensive education to nearly 400 children through the dedicated efforts of its 37 teachers and 15 staff. Beyond academics, the organization offers healthcare programs and empowers families through self-employment opportunities, generating income from globally sold products that are reinvested into education, healthcare, and community development. In his speech, Anubhuti Prakash, President of Dakshini Prayash, emphasised the organization's expansion and social impact. As the Chief Guest of the occasion, Prof. Shantanu Ray, a renowned authority on management education, acknowledged Dakshini Prayash's unique concept of holistic community development.
