Eleven Kids From Ektara Join Acropolis Mall in Celebrating Its Eleventh Birthday

News Desk, News Nation 360: Acropolis Mall, brainchild of Merlin Group, marked its 11th anniversary in Kolkata by organising a creative community initiative, “11 at 11 – Pujo Through Their Eyes” at the mall’s central atrium, inviting 11 children from the local NGO based in Tangra, Ektara to a live canvas painting session capturing the effervescent spirit of the upcoming Durga Puja. Under the able guidance and creative hands of famed visual artist Eleena Banik, the children created vibrant personal takes on the autumnal celebration — the idol-worship, dhaak-beating, food trails, pandal-hopping and attires — that concluded the day’s events with gift-giving by the Merlin Group Chairman Sushil Mohta and a cake-cutting ceremony. Recalling the mall’s evolution since its opening in 2015, Mohta remarked how the retail hub has transformed from a simple retail hub to a multi-faceted experiential and cultural epicentre for South Kolkata, where the commercial, social and philanthropic spheres come together to engage the region’s multi-generational customer base in everything from dining to retail, social welfare and seasonal festivals.
