SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : As India celebrates ten years of Digital India, Indus Towers, one of the world's leading telecom infrastructure providers, today announced its partnership with DigiShiksha to allow digital access for 136,525 people from underprivileged communities. Launched in 2018, the DigiShiksha project provides digital literacy, IT skills, cybersecurity awareness, and financial education to youth, women, senior persons, and farmers, in direct alignment with the Government of India's Digital India Mission. The Indus Towers' DTV effort aimed to teach thousands of women critical digital literacy while also instilling awareness, confidence, and self-reliance. The program is implemented by the NIIT Foundation. Speaking about the initiative, Neeti Wahi, Chief Digital & Information Officer at Indus Towers, stated that Indus Towers' DTV represents a dedication to inclusive growth as well as a belief in the ability of technology to create equality. It's encouraging to see that more than half of their recipients are women, demonstrating their commitment to inclusive growth and long-term impact. As part of 'Saksham' (Indus Towers' flagship Corporate Social Responsibility program), Indus Towers' 21-seater Digital Transformation Van has visited rural and urban slum areas in Delhi, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Indus Towers' flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Saksham, comprises a solar-powered Digital Transformation Van. The DTV offers free-of-cost doorstep digital education and public services to the underserved and remote communities of the country. Equipped with a high-speed internet facility, modern computers, printers, and e-learning equipment, this mobile classroom is used as a community hub for creating awareness on issues such as digital safety, environmental conservation, and waste management. It caters to a wide range of sections, including school children above 12 years of age, women, farmers, and senior citizens-the people who have been left behind in the rapid growth of digitisation. Expert trainers from the NIIT Foundation conduct the sessions, providing personalised assistance according to individual learner needs. Unlike conventional static training centres, the DTV travels to areas where the need is greatest and customises its programs for maximum impact. Since its launch in 2018 under the DigiShiksha initiative, the DTV has digitally empowered over 1.36 lakh people across seven states. Significantly, over 50% beneficiaries are women, reflecting Indus Towers' deep commitment to inclusive digital growth and women's empowerment through technology.
