JIS Group Hosts JIS SAMMAN 2026

News Desk, News Nation 360 : JIS Group organised JIS SAMMAN 2026, its flagship and much-anticipated annual awards ceremony, rewarding excellence, visionary leadership, and revolutionary contributions across the disciplines of academics, culture, sports, and public service. The renowned event paid respect to excellent students, talented scholars, dedicated instructors, committed employees of the JIS Group, and eminent persons whose exemplary work has had a lasting impression on society and contributed profoundly to the nation’s advancement. Dr Binoy Kumar Das, the Director General of DRDO, was awarded the JIS Maha Samman 2026 for his exemplary leadership in Electronics and Communication Systems. He is known to be one of the main architects of Operation Sindoor, a historic 2025 military operation that showcased the indigenous defence capabilities of India by successfully launching Akashteer and Akash missiles, along with BrahMos. His contributions have been instrumental in reducing the country’s dependence on foreign military imports and increasing its technological autonomy. The award function, a highly prestigious event, was organised by the senior leadership of the JIS Group, including Managing Director Sardar Taranjit Singh and CEO Sardarni Manpreet Kaur, to commemorate excellence that transcends conventional boundaries. Alongside Dr Das, other prominent awardees included former Member of Parliament Sardar Tarlochan Singh for his service to society, and renowned

classical singer Haimanti Sukla for her valuable contributions to India’s rich cultural heritage. Former Indian National Football Team captain Bhaskar Ganguly was also honoured for his revolutionary influence on the sport and his lasting leadership legacy. The evening included a mesmerising performance by the Sufi music group Bolly Sufi, which added a beautiful cultural element to the majestic event held at the Science City auditorium. This annual event emphasises the JIS Group’s dedication to bridging the gap between what is learned in institutions and what is achieved in practical life. Through the recognition of these achievers, the organisation hopes to encourage a new generation of leaders to work towards innovation and social responsibility.
