SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk. News Nation 360: Members can now accrue and use Maharaja Points and Tier Points on Air India Express flights to more than 55 locations in South, Southeast, and West Asia, thanks to a major extension of Air India's Maharaja Club reward program. This strategic integration speeds up tier progression for frequent fliers by enabling qualified Air India Express trips to directly count toward minimum flying requirements and Tier Point accumulation. The rising size of the Air India Express network, according to Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India and Chairman of Air India Express, makes this consolidation timely and satisfies a long-standing consumer expectation to turn Maharaja Points into a very valued travel currency. Retrospective point claims, airport counter additions, and contact centre modifications are not available during this initial phase, so members must enter their Maharaja Club ID at the time of booking via the Air India or Air India Express websites, mobile apps, or specific online travel partners in order to accrue

points. The accrual framework uses a structured tier system per INR 100 spent to calculate reward points based on the base fare and fuel surcharge, including special discounted fares for senior citizens, students, and military personnel. Bookings made through the Air India Express website and app yield 8, 10, 11, and 12 points for Red, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers, respectively, while bookings made through other channels, such as OTAs, yield 6, 8, 9, and 10 points. Point redemption for Air India Express award flights is currently restricted to codeshare flights with Air India's "AI" designator code that are booked through the Air India website or mobile app. The redemption rates range from 1,500 Maharaja Points for an Economy Super Value Fare on shorter routes like Bengaluru-Chennai or Dimapur-Guwahati, to 4,500 points for Ahmedabad-Kolkata, 7,000 points for Delhi-Bengaluru, and a flat 12,000 points for international sectors like Amritsar-Dubai, Kochi-Bahrain, and Bengaluru-Bangkok. Maharaja Club members travelling on Air India Express will progressively get access to premium-tier perks in later stages of this integration, such as priority check-in, priority boarding, seat selection, "Fly Prior" benefits, and flexible cancellation or rescheduling fee waivers.
