News Desk, News Nation 360: At the esteemed 3rd Edition of the Bengal British Icon Awards 2026, which took place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the historic House of Lords in the British Parliament, London, renowned celebrity fashion designer Jaya Misra, Founder and Creative Director of JAYA MISRA INDIA, received official recognition. The historic event, which was hosted by The Rt Hon Baroness Manzila Uddin and arranged by Candid Communication UK as part of the London Mahotsav, honoured prominent South Asian diaspora leaders who have had long-lasting cross-border effects on the world's creative sectors. Following her official international red carpet debut at the Cannes Film Festival 2026 in May, the high-profile honour comes at a pivotal point in Misra's remarkable two-decade career. Wearing a self-designed blush-pink contemporary couture saree gown highly decorated with pearls and elaborate artisanal handwork, she transformed the indigenous fluid silhouette into an avant-garde worldwide masterpiece that enthralled international observers on that globally benchmarked arena. The NIFT alumnus has continuously used international runways to promote and financially support India's traditional grassroots craftsmanship, having previously displayed her luxury bridal and resort wear collections in major international fashion capitals, including Milan, New York, Dubai, Vancouver, Tokyo, and Belgrade. Upon accepting the award inside the Palace of Westminster, Jaya Misra expressed her profound humility. She emphasised that this parliamentary honour is a collective triumph dedicated to the silent perseverance of regional Indian weavers and creative artisans, reinforcing her lifelong creative mission to use luxury fashion as an enduring bridge between rich national heritage and international haute couture.
