SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : On World No Tobacco Day, Soumen's Workout, one of Kolkata's top fitness and wellness organisations, organised the 14th Annual World No Tobacco Day Rally as a dramatic call to action against the dual concerns of tobacco usage and obesity. The event, themed "Condemn Tobacco and Obesity Like India Condemns Terrorism - Let's Fight Today for a Better Tomorrow," attempted to rekindle popular support for a healthier, addiction-free India. Kreamz, a prominent food brand, served as the event's official food partner, promoting healthy living with nutritional drinks. Soumen Das, Proprietor of Soumen's Workout, stated that tobacco and obesity are silent foes that take lives slowly. They must condemn them with the same zeal and intensity with which the country opposes terrorism. This is more than just a rally; it is a declaration of war against deadly habits. Let everyone struggle now so that the children might have a brighter tomorrow. To commemorate World No Tobacco Day, Soumen's Workout held a powerful anti-tobacco rally in Kolkata, starting from Rani Rashmoni Road to the Victoria Memorial. The rally brought together students from schools, fitness freaks, NGOs, and community leaders to show how mass awareness and community power can bring about change. The need for this campaign is highlighted by stunning figures, including the Global Youth Tobacco Survey 2019 findings that 8.4% of Indian school-going children between the ages of 13-15 use tobacco, and
deaths due to tobacco take approximately 3,600 Indian lives each day, to highlight the absolute necessity for grassroots-level awareness and preventive measures. Apart from this yearly rally, Soumen's Workout works tirelessly for health advocacy via programs such as International Yoga Day, Anti-Obesity Day, and 'Jago India Jago,' the country's largest fitness campaign against obesity. This year's rally strongly reaffirmed the fact that a healthier India is possible, starting with individual resolve.
