News Nation 360: At Kolkata's Netaji Indoor Stadium, Techno Main Salt Lake (under MAKAUT University) celebrated its historic Silver Jubilee with a lavish cultural and commemorative event, commemorating 25 years of academic brilliance, innovation, and transformative education. Along with academics, alumni, and students, prominent guests of honour such as Ashida Katsunori (Hon'ble Deputy Consul General of Japan) and Padmashri Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay (former director of the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata) graced the high-profile event. Techno India Group Co-Chairperson Prof. Manoshi Roychowdhury gave a welcome speech and ceremonial lamp lighting to kick off the evening's events. He passionately highlighted the institution's historic journey from local classrooms to global achievements in entrepreneurship and space missions like Chandrayaan, emphasising that education is about discovering oneself and growing with humanity. Dr Goutam Roychowdhury, the founding chairman, expressed his goal for the institution to continue growing into one of the best engineering colleges in the nation while also expressing his sincere gratitude and blessings to the academic community. High-profile felicitations and exceptional musical performances by Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury and the duo Sourendro-Soumyojit, who specifically trained and mentored a choir of 25 Techno Main Salt Lake students to deliver a memorable legacy musical tribute before concluding with a formal vote of thanks, were featured at the milestone celebration.
