News Desk, News Nation 360: The 10th edition of the esteemed Clifford Hicks International Debate concluded at Calcutta Boys’ School (CBS), Kolkata, after a rigorous five-day intellectual discourse that saw the participation of delegates from over 100 schools in India and abroad, organised by the CBS Literary Society, CBS Debating Society, and CBS United Students Organisation. In Category 2, which debated the algorithmic erosion of free will in the digital age, Wisdom World School, Wakad, emerged winner over runners-up Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bengaluru, with Nishant Gijare (Wisdom World) and Chayanak Kausik (Bishop Cotton) jointly adjudged Best Speakers; while Category 1 championship contest – whether peace secured through injustice is a corrosive illusion – The Bishop’s Co-Ed School, Undri, bagged the national title over runners-up Calcutta Boys’ School, with host delegate Adrish Hossain declared Best Speaker. The valedictory ceremony and prize distribution were presided over by Chief Guests Shri Sudip Bandyopadhyay (Hon’ble Member of Parliament) and Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr C. Selvin (Area Bishop of the Lucknow Episcopal Area, MCI, and Chairman of the CBS Group of Schools) and the Principal and Secretary, Raja McGee, who emphasised the competition’s role in fostering independent, empathetic leadership and reasoned dialogue, and the event was also marked with the official launch of the school’s annual magazine, Pulse 2025–26.
