News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Indian Rose Federation (IRF), the premier body for rose culture and promotion, has invited the Bengal Rose Society (BRS) to organise its flagship event, the Indian Rose Convention and All India Rose Show, in Kolkata. BRS proposes hosting the event on January 3-5, 2026, at Lions Safari Park (Rabindra Sarobar, Gate 10), in partnership with Lions Safari Park (a project of the Lions Club of North Calcutta). Arup Roy, MIC Food Processing Industries & Horticulture, Government of West Bengal, has graciously accepted to inaugurate the event. Pradip K. Mazumdar, MIC Panchayats, Rural Development & Cooperation, Government of West Bengal, has accepted to serve as a Guest of Honour. More than 250 delegates from across India have already registered for the event. The All India Rose Show, the highlight of the Indian Rose Convention, will feature approximately 2,500 cut rose exhibits from rosarians across the country, as well as over 700 pot-grown roses—a Bengal speciality with more than 100 flowers per pot, perfected through specialised media and techniques from Kolkata and surrounding areas. All entries will be judged by renowned national specialists. On Day 2 (January 4), technical discussions will feature insights from the ICAR Directorate of Floricultural Research Director (Pune), Pallishree Limited's MD and CEO, a well-known Bengal rose breeder, and plans for the 21st World Rose Convention in Bhopal (2028). Delegates will get a special Bengal Rose Annual edition that includes global articles, pamphlets about Kolkata's pot rose culture/processes/competition preparation, and a forthcoming coffee table book called Roses from Bengal.
