The Second Eastern India Blood, Marrow, and Cellular Therapy Meet held in Kolkata

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Eastern Haematology Group (EHG) arranged the Eastern India Blood, Marrow and Cellular Therapy Meet 2024 (EIBMCT Meet 2024) on Bone Marrow Transplant in Kolkata for its second edition. Eastern Haematology Group is hosting an exclusive conference in East and North East India. Haematologists and hemato-oncologists from eleven eastern and northeastern Indian states make up the organisation EHG. The second EIBMCT Meet 2024 covered the topic of "Consolidation of BMT activity in Eastern India." The inaugural function was attended by Narayan Swarup Nigam, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal; Dr. Kausthav Naik, Director of Medical Education, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal; Dr. Siddharth Neogi, Director of Health Services, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal; Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Dey, Department of Hematology, NRS Medical College & Hospital and Organizing Secretary, EIBMCT 2024; Prof. (Dr.) Pete Baran Chakraborty, Principal, NRS Medical College and Hospital; Prof. (Dr.) Tufan Kanti Dolai, Head, Department of Hematology, NRS Medical College and Hospital; Prof. (Dr.) Ravindra Kumar Jena, Secretary, Eastern Hematology Group (EHG) and Secretary, Indian College of Hematology; Prof. Dr. Navin Khatri, Deputy Director, ACTREC, TMH Mumbai. More than 250 medical professionals, including hemato- and hematologists-oncologists, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, BMT doctors, nurses, transfusion medicine specialists, scientists, and other BMT support staff, as well as government representatives and non-profit organisations, will share their knowledge, experience, and expertise to advance BMT practice. took part in a two-day meeting to exchange knowledge and talk about plans for BMT in East and North East India in the future. The 13 BMT centers from West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam and Chhattisgarh that participated in the conference were NRS Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, IHTM-Medical College, Kolkata, Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata, Apollo Multispeciality Hospital, Kolkata, Narayan Superspeciality Hospital, Howrah, Saroj Gupta Cancer Center and Research Institute, Kolkata to name a few.
