News Desk, News Nation 360: Founder and Chairman of Vedanta Group, Anil Agarwal, has said the natural resources company aims to make a USD 20 billion profit over the next two years, with revenues touching USD 50 billion in 2028. Speaking at an interactive session organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and ICC Young Leaders Forum in Kolkata, Agarwal said that growing up at Bara Bazar, facing the Satyanarayan temple and studying at Jain Vidyalaya has taught him many things about West Bengal. He said the intellectual capital, highly skilled workforce and strong industrial base of West Bengal are key drivers towards growth. Agarwal called for more industry-government collaboration to create value-added manufacturing across Aluminium, Copper, Zinc and speciality display glass for smartphones and automotive. Agarwal also said Vedanta are committed to becoming self-sufficient, creating jobs within India and reducing imports. However, he said industrial growth must be driven by technology-enabled jobs using artificial intelligence. Agarwal reaffirmed Vedanta’s commitment to ensure 35% of its workforce is female under our constitution. Agarwal also talked about the importance of working towards eliminating child hunger across the nation and ensuring ladies have financial independence.
