Action TESA Celebrates National Carpenter Day

The celebration of National Carpenter Day this year was highlighted with 'Mega Meets' in more than 50 cities around the nation, where carpenters numbering thousands came together to learn, socialise, and celebrate their craftsmanship. The ceremony began with a motivational address by Ajay Devgn, who saluted carpenters for their crucial but mostly forgotten work behind building houses, furniture, and infrastructure. Following the success of the initial year, Action TESA's Wood Panel Processing Techniques (WPPT) program, a three-month skill development program designed in association with MSMEs, achieved 100% placement for all 30 trainees, with many of

them immediately being employed, proving the industry applicability and quality of the program. The project is considered a career launching pad, improving livelihoods and constructing a better future, and there are plans to implement more such courses across the country for wider reach and influence among carpenters and their families. The event, in general, highlighted the necessity of recognising carpenters as the pillars of the furniture sector and was committed to empowering them through skill development and dignified recognition. On the occasion, Ajay Aggarwal, Managing Director, Action TESA, stated that carpenters are the foundation of the wood furniture industry, since their hands give shape to every dream. With projects such as TESA Salaam and WPPT, they are not only remembering them now, but also laying the groundwork for a brighter future.
