News Desk, News Nation 360: The Bengal Home Industries Association (BHIA), which has long been a champion of local crafts since 1905, organised its Spring Collection Exhibition on March 14, 2026, at its heritage property located at Rash Behari Avenue in Kolkata. The exhibition proved to be a thought-provoking event that celebrated the rich heritage of Bengal in terms of textiles, especially in areas where traditional weaving meets modern-day sustainable fashion. The event was formally inaugurated by G.M. Kapur, President, BHIA, and attended by Madhumita Sarkar Guha, Founder & CEO, Luxe Living, as the Guest of Honour. The exhibition featured a wide range of handwoven and hand-embellished sarees and home furnishings made by skilled artisans in rural Bengal. According to Kapur, Such platforms are critical in linking traditional artisanal livelihoods to the modern global design world, helping traditional crafts like Jamdani, Kantha, and other techniques that have been around for centuries to survive and thrive.
