News Desk, News Nation 360 : Flavours of Africa launched its Suvo Naba Barsho Special Menu, which features their new Massai Thaali, to welcome the Bengali New Year in true African style. Prepare to be overwhelmed with options and torn between Bengali and African cuisine. Flavours of Africa, a restaurant in Kolkata, introduced a unique twist to Poila Baisakh this year by offering a flavoursome fusion of authentic African and Bengali cuisine to celebrate the cultural meeting at the start of the Bengali New Year; their special Poila Baisakh menu, available from April 15th to April 25th, 2025, includes both a vegetarian thali (Mboga Sahani) priced at INR 1200 and a non-vegetarian thali (Sio Mboga) priced at INR 1500, featuring dishes like Basanti Pulao (Mchele wa njano), Spiced Fried Fish (Samaki wa Kukaanga), Chingri Machcher Malaicurry (Coco Crevettes), Chicken Dak-Banglow (Doro wat), Kosha Mangsho (Kaanga Mbuzi), Kacher Aamer Chutney (Embe Kijani Salsa), and desserts such as Narkeler Naru (Bon Coco) and Payesh (Wali Nazi Pudding na Mango Compote), along with Kacha Aamer Sorbot (Embe Kijani Lemonade). The restaurant provided an exuberant and lively ambience, celebrating both the Bengali New Year and the love for Africa, bringing people together to enjoy this unique blend of traditional Bengali food with authentic African flavours, inviting everyone to experience this special culinary offering. Speaking about the grand celebration, Dr Kalyan Kar, Owner of Flavours of Africa, shared that since they recently opened their new restaurant, Flavours of Africa, which is celebrating its first Poila Baisakh, this year's celebration is even more meaningful for them. They are excited to start the new year with new beginnings and hopes, thanks to real Bengali food prepared in the African style, which instils its rich and varied tastes to celebrate Bengali culture in a novel way.
