News Desk, News Nation 360 : At a Cancer Awareness Health Talk organised in association with the Press Club, Kolkata, senior cancer doctors from Fortis Hospital, Anandapur, emphasised how early diagnosis greatly enhances cancer survival outcomes and quality of life. More than fifty members of the media attended the event, which had as its goal educating the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and medical advancements in treatment. Active participation in the session reaffirmed the increasing demand for prompt, well-informed cancer care. Fortis Hospital Anandapur had arranged an enlightening discussion with its audience about early detection of cancer and the importance of team-based treatment solutions in combating the disease. The discussion session with members like Dr Debapriya Mondal, Dr Sujata Datta, and Dr Shrinivas Narayan focused on the discussion not only about the numbers of those affected with different varieties of cancer in the head, neck, breast, uterine, and prostate regions of Kolkata but also on the solution to prevent the further rise of oral and lung cancers in men due to the larger use of tobacco products or breast and cervical cancers in women. The emphasis of the entire discussion focused on the consequences of delayed diagnosis and detection, coupled with the necessity to increase awareness about it, particularly within the rural regions of the country, with the help of screenings and lifestyle changes that tend to reduce the potential threat of cancer in large numbers. The importance of medical oncology, gynaecology, and urology, all being present in the discussion, provided a wide perspective of the current situation with regard to dealing with the threat of cancer in the country. Speaking on the occasion, Richa S Debgupta, Executive Vice President, Chief of Strategy, Group Head - ESG, Business Head Jaipur and Kolkata, Fortis Healthcare, stated that at Fortis, they firmly think that healthy outcomes are the result of informed communities.
