SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : A unique social effort took place on the grounds of the ancient Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA), which is at the centre of the film industry. To commemorate Mahanayak Uttam Kumar, a large blood donation camp was held under the direction of President Piya Sengupta and overseen by Saroj Mukherjee, Chairman of the Distributor Section. This was EIMPA's ninth successive attempt. Artists, directors, producers, and all of EIMPA's official staff were present, and the place exuded a strong humanitarian atmosphere. Along with other well-known figures from the film industry, the distinguished visitors were Ritobrata Bhattacharya, Chairman of the Producer Section; Anupam Halder, Joint Commissioner of the
Government of West Bengal, and producer-director and actress Shiuli Ramani. Speaking at the event, Anupam Halder stated that the most honourable and revered deed in a person's life is giving blood. This camp is unquestionably a unique example, organised in honour of an immortal artist such as Uttam Kumar. In order to save a life when it's needed, he urged every citizen to donate blood at least twice a year. The first person to give blood during the camp was producer-director Shubham Das. That day, 85 donors in all—including EIMPA members and outside social workers—contributed their priceless blood. The work of Tarapada Mondal, Narugopal Mondal, Anusuya Samanta, Debraj Banerjee, Sourav Kar, Jayanta Upadhyay, Priyanka Halder, Pamela, Somshuvra, Durjoy Mondal, Paramita Munshi, Srabanti, Kajri Modak, and Jhuma, among others, was essential to the event's success.
