News Desk, News Nation 360 : The International Institute for Management Development (IMD Business School), located in Lausanne, Switzerland, has conducted a thorough case study on Paathya, Indian Hotels Company's (IHCL) blueprint for sustainable and ethical hospitality. The study looks at IHCL's methodical approach to sustainability and how it fits into their overall business plan. To become the most recognisable, ethical, and successful hospitality ecosystem in South Asia, IHCL has been undergoing a transition. IHCL introduced its ESG+ framework, Paathya, a complete program for social impact, sustainable growth, and responsible hospitality. Paathya is based on six pillars: partner transformation, environmental stewardship, social responsibility, corporate governance, heritage, and sustainable growth. It has specific goals for 2030. Single-use plastics must be phased out, 50% of energy must come from renewable sources, all wastewater must be recycled, and all hotels must be certified to meet international sustainability standards. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL, stated thatbeing a trailblazer in the hospitality sector in India, IHCL has established numerous standards that are still being developed and improved. Creating a sustainable hospitality industry is now a common duty. Paathya is their means of creating a future in which responsibility and development coexist. With more than 70 bottling plants, 51% recycled water, 41% sustainable energy, and collaborations enabling 73 Skill Centres that have trained more than 35,000 impoverished youngsters, they have made significant progress toward their 2030 targets.
