In Honour of the Success of Chandrayaan-3, Kolkata Observes National Space Day

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Chandrayaan-3 lander and rover made a historic touchdown on the moon, marking a significant accomplishment for the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). India was the first nation to set foot on the lunar south pole and the fourth nation overall to land on the moon as a result. The Pragyan rover deployed successfully following the gentle landing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi proclaimed August 23 to be "National Space Day" in India in honour of this accomplishment. Professor Siddhartha Das of the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at IIT Kharagpur led the quiz competition, which included two IIT Kharagpur alumni, Rajiv Agarwal and Subhomoy Bakshi, and covered space and ISRO's lunar program. They made it clear that students would return to their schools to continue the conversation and raise awareness of the issue following the day's talks and tests. Abhinav Bharati High School in Kolkata hosted the East India Inter-School Space Day Quiz on August 22, the first National Space Day, to highlight space and ISRO's initiatives among students. An alumni initiative from IIT Kharagpur, Edudigm, hosted the competition, which drew in 300 kids and 100 teachers from 90 schools in Eastern India.
