SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC) is excited to present the AMI Arts Festival 2025, an annual celebration of art in all its forms and dimensions. The festival, which was first launched in 2020, is now in its sixth edition and will run for a month, beginning on November 21, the day KCC was founded, and ending on December 21, 2025, promising spectacular events across diverse disciplines such as exhibitions, workshops, theatre productions, dance and music recitals, power-packed band performances, talks, film screenings, and many community-based engagements. Richa Agarwal, Chairperson of KCC, expressed her enthusiasm for the festival and stated that as they commemorate the sixth edition of the AMI Arts Festival, she is overwhelmed with pleasure at how this effort has grown into one of Kolkata's most exciting and inclusive celebrations of art and culture. AMI — 'আমি' — is not simply a festival, but a concept that acknowledges the power of creativity to unite people. It embodies both individualism and collective spirit, connecting disciplines, languages, and communities via discussion, performance, and expression. Each edition has reinforced its view that art can elicit empathy, comprehension, and change. Through AMI, they hope to create a platform where artists and viewers can meet as equals to exchange, explore, and envisage a more interconnected cultural future. The AMI Arts Festival 2025, put together by the Kolkata Centre for Creativity (KCC), revolves around "Ami", meaning "I" in Bengali, symbolising personal expression and the power of art to connect individuals across the globe. From November 21 to December 21, this festivity will cover iconic Kolkata venues such as the Indian Museum, Victoria Memorial Hall, GD Birla Sabhaghar, and many others, presenting an array of exhibitions, performances, workshops, and talks in plenty. The opening exhibition, Breathing With History – Celebrating Rural Heritage Stories, features rural craft traditions in Bengal. Then there's Atlas of Serenities: Chronicles of Little Intimacies, a photography exhibition at KCC, and UTSAV IV, a youth-focused series of performances at Victoria Memorial. The festival embraces diversity and inclusion through dedicated DEAI events: marginalised communities, LGBTQIA+, and people with disabilities. From classical sitar concerts, Bauls, and rock bands to theatre shows like Dastangoi storytelling and plays directed by well-known names, musical lineups and theatricals will keep the audience entertained. The festival aims to harness cultural dialogue and creative engagement in Kolkata's vibrant arts scene.
