News Desk, News Nation 360 : Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service club organisation, with 1.4 million members spread over more than 200 nations and geographical areas. The Lions thought that community development and welfare required the cooperation of corporations, other non-governmental groups, and, most crucially, the government. They emphasised the significance of working in a cooperative and collaborative environment to inspire everyone involved in this noble endeavour and promote mutual learning. India has over 8,500 clubs in all states and union territories, with 290,000 members. Lions have attained personal success and have chosen to give back to society through programs that promote community development and nation-building. International 1st Vice President Arvinder Pal Singh stated that Lions provide need-based services to communities. They also believe it is their responsibility to convey their gratitude to other individuals and groups who continue to assist public welfare and development by presenting these awards. The Lions Clubs International operates under the motto "We Serve," engaging in diverse humanitarian programs globally. Their focus areas include vision care, diabetes awareness, general healthcare and wellness, disaster relief, environmental protection, women and youth empowerment, education, and various other community-specific needs. In India, the Lions Clubs have established a significant footprint, running 175 eye hospitals, 50 blood banks, and 55 dialysis centres. They also manage over 200 schools and children's parks, provide daily meals to underprivileged individuals, and support education through scholarships and vaccination centres. Annually, the service projects undertaken by Lions Clubs in India exceed INR 400 crores in monetary terms.
