The 9th Charles Correa Memorial Lecture is Held in Ambuja Neotia

News Desk, News Nation 360: To commemorate the lasting legacy of one of India's greatest architectural visionaries, Ambuja Neotia Group, in collaboration with The Charles Correa Foundation, held the 9th edition of the esteemed Charles Correa Memorial Lecture at the Royal Bengal Room, City Centre Salt Lake in Kolkata. This event brought together a significant group of architects, urban planners, and design students. Ambuja Neotia Group Chairman Harshavardhan Neotia, along with Madhu Neotia, lead organiser Ashish Acharjee, and this year's outstanding keynote speaker, renowned American architect Marlon Blackwell, lit lamps to officially launch the annual flagship event. Blackwell, a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA) and recipient of the prestigious 2020 AIA Gold Medal, joined a distinguished line of previous memorial lecturers, including Peter Stutchbury, Andra Matin, Brinda Somaya, and Rahul Mehrotra, with an inspiring speech outlining his design philosophy of deeply connecting structures to landscape, culture, and purpose. Ashish Acharjee, who famously worked with Charles Correa on iconic public spaces like the Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur, gracefully anchored the evening. Harshavardhan Neotia gave a moving reflection on how Correa's timeless principles continue to serve as a crucial blueprint for future generations of city-makers to design contemporary urban spaces that remain fiercely rooted in human context, community wellness, and regional identity.
