News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Plastindia Foundation, the organisers of the world's largest plastics exhibition, will present the PLASTINDIA 2026 Kolkata Roadshow, 12th November 2025. The event will bring together industry executives and policymakers to highlight the tremendous growth trajectory of West Bengal's plastics industry, which is set to receive over 3,000 crore in new capital expenditure. This investment greatly supports Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's objective of establishing West Bengal as a global manufacturing hub, notably through the empowerment of the MSME sector. This fresh wave of investment is expected to generate around 2 lakh new jobs in the state and add another 20,000 crore to the state's GDP. Ravish Kamath, President of the Plastindia Foundation, stated that they are profoundly grateful to the Honourable Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, for her government's proactive industrial policies, which have laid the groundwork for prosperity. India is on an unstoppable path, and 'Bharat Next' represents its commitment to nurturing this progress. The Indian plastics sector is expected to be worth $50 billion by 2026, and West Bengal's fresh wave of investment is a perfect example of this growth.

The PLASTINDIA 2026 roadshow, held in association with IPF, was graced by its Chief Guest, Firhad Hakim, Honourable Mayor of Kolkata and Minister for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, and Guest of Honour Vandana Yadav, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industry, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal. The event underlined West Bengal's emergence as a high-growth polymer hub backed by huge investments, including the ₹5,000 crore project by Haldia Petrochemicals to set up India's largest Phenol & Acetone plant and plans by IPF to develop poly parks, including one at Uluberia. A new sector skill centre at Sankrail is proposed to be developed for building a future-ready manpower resource. West Bengal's per capita plastic consumption, currently at 9 kg, is lower than the national average of 15 kg, reflecting huge market potential that remains untapped in the state. The PLASTINDIA 2026 exhibition, themed "Bharat Next," will be held from February 5 to 10, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam (IECC), New Delhi. The exhibition promises to be the largest exhibition on plastics worldwide, with over 2,000 exhibitors, more than 600,000 visitors, and representatives of over 80 countries showcasing cutting-edge innovation and global industry leadership.
