News Desk, News Nation 360 : As in previous years, on November 14, Saroj Gupta Cancer Center and Research Institute celebrated Children's Day at their Auditorium. The event featured a stellar lineup of guests, including eminent Indian Actor & Singer Saheb Chatterjee as the Chief Guest, Hony Secretary of St. Stephen’s School, Bowbazar, Imran Zaki, and MD of Sukhmani Developers (P) Ltd, Rajendra Singh, as Guests of Honour. Superstar singer Master Rohan Das enthralled the young audience with a special performance, while renowned Portrait Painter Somnath Chowdhury graced the occasion as a Special Guest and judged a drawing competition for child patients, also offering valuable insights into the art of drawing and painting. The event aims to uplift the spirits of young cancer patients and provide them with a much-needed respite from their ongoing treatment. The Centre, known for its unwavering commitment to providing affordable and

accessible cancer care, especially for underprivileged children, has a dedicated children’s hospital equipped with various amenities like a toy centre, park, water body, toy train, and amphitheatre. To further alleviate the financial burden on families, the Centre often waives bed charges for the entire duration of treatment, which can extend up to six months. Additionally, there are no doctor’s fees, and even for those who can afford to pay, the charges are kept minimal. The Centre has been fortunate to receive support from numerous well-wishers and NGOs who organize various entertainment programs, including magic shows, drawing competitions, dramas, and cultural performances. The event will also be an opportunity to celebrate the courage and resilience of cancer survivors, many of whom will be attending to inspire newly diagnosed patients. The Centre’s success in treating childhood leukaemia, particularly through early detection and proper treatment, offers hope to many young patients and their families.
