News Desk, News Nation 360 : Through the Spice Money App and Bharat Connect, a platform by NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited, Spice Money (a subsidiary of DiGiSPICE Technologies), India's leader in assisted digital payments and a pioneer in rural fintech, has enabled over 9.5 million digital bill payment transactions between January and May 2025. As an authorised BBPOU licence holder under the BBPS framework, Spice Money offers rural residents a compliant platform so they may pay their bills with assurance. Spice Money boasts a robust network of more than 15 lakh Adhikaris. Over 1.5 lakh of the Adhikaris are actively transacting for bill payments monthly. This network is spread over 95% of rural pincodes. These Adhikaris are digital catalysts. They enable citizens to pay for services such as electricity, water, education charges, DTH, loan EMIs, and mobile recharges. Many times, these are the first-ever digital transactions for most users. The Spice Money App, fueled by the Bharat Connect platform, offers a secure and safe space for consumers to conduct these lifeblood transactions with ease and confidence. This guided model has fueled transaction volumes. It has also filled the digital divide by enabling consumers who cannot pay bills on their own. As a result of Bharat Connect's integration with more than 700 apps, they are facilitating access and assistance for individuals who are unaware or unsure of using digital platforms. Out of the highest performing states, West Bengal was the clear winner. It had more than 18,000 Adhikaris supporting over 2.16 million bill payment transactions through Bharat Connect between January and May 2025. Bihar came next with almost 15,800 Adhikaris supporting about 2.4 million transactions. Uttar Pradesh had more than 14,500 Adhikaris supporting 7.1 lakh transactions. Madhya Pradesh had almost 10,600 supporting 6.2 lakh transactions. Chhattisgarh had more than 6,300 Adhikaris supporting about 5.2 lakh transactions. These are the new digital frontier states. Here, individuals are increasingly using platforms such as the Spice Money App and Bharat Connect to address daily financial needs in a hassle-free and facilitated way. The introduction of Bharat Connect's new campaign of #JaanteNahiParMaanteHain is a reflection of the ability of the platform to transform the lives of millions of Indians. Loan repayment and payment of electricity bills continued to lead transaction volumes and value. The loan payments made up 53% of Spice Money's bill payment transactions, holding the number one position with 5.03 million transactions. Electricity became the second most transacted category to make up 36.8% of the total volume at 3.5 million transactions. DTH services, LPG gas bills, mobile postpaid payments, and FASTag recharges were some of the most transacted categories as well. This is a telling indication of an expanding acceptance of digital utilities in even the most remote parts of the nation. On average, every user paid over 2 bills per month. This suggests an expanding use of digital solutions for routine payment purposes.
