The event was a significant precursor to the Stagecraft Awards 2025, which will be hosted on 21st November 2025 at Science City Auditorium. The Stagecraft Foundation organises the yearly ceremony to honour live stage technicians, who are typically unseen yet essential to every show. The unveiling was attended by legendary singer Usha Uthup, Founder Trustee & Chairperson, Stagecraft Foundation, Pramod Grover, Director, Science City, and superstar Face of Stagecraft Awards, Prosenjit Chatterjee, as well as Stagecraft core team members Shiladitya Chaudhury, Dibyendu Shekhor Lahiri, Anil Kuriokose, and Gautam Jain, who jointly revealed the official poster, kicking off this year's celebrations. The day began with the Jury
Meet for Stagecraft Awards 2025, held at Science City Seminar Hall in Kolkata, with a congregation of distinguished jury members from the entertainment and corporate worlds, including, among others, Usha Uthup, Tanmoy Bose, Iman Chakraborty, Jaya Seal, Jimmy Tangree, Sanchita Bhattacharya, and Abhishek Dutta. Stagecraft Ke Sholay is the 8th edition of the awards, which goes all out to trace the mystifying world of body doubles and look-alikes. The idea is to reflect on how impersonators, decoys, and AI-generated doubles have become important in performing arts and popular culture. As the iconic film "Sholay" celebrates its 50th birthday, the theme pays homage to the artistry and illusion behind it while striving to question the tie-in between identity, creativity, and authenticity behind stage and screen performances. A gathering of artists and experts comes together to recognise contributions in the fields of music, dance, and entertainment and to celebrate Kolkata's legacy as a hub of artistic talent and innovation.
