The event was a significant precursor to the Stagecraft Awards 2025, which will be hosted on 21st November 2025 at Science City Auditorium. Stagecraft Ke Sholay is the 8th edition of the awards, which goes all out to trace the mystifying world of body doubles and look-alikes. The idea is to reflect on how impersonators, decoys, and AI-generated doubles have become important in performing arts and popular culture. As the iconic film "Sholay" celebrates its 50th birthday, the theme pays homage to the artistry and illusion behind it while striving to question the tie-in between identity, creativity, and authenticity behind stage and screen performances. A gathering of artists and experts comes together to recognise contributions in the fields of music, dance, and entertainment and to celebrate Kolkata's legacy as a hub of artistic talent and innovation.
