News Desk, News Nation 360 : On World Consumer Rights Day 2025, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Kolkata Branch Office 1, conducted a sensitization program titled Quality Quest Carnival at Community Centre 4, AC Block, New Town, with a motive to make residents aware of the significance of quality and safety in day-to-day life, with the active presence of 150 representatives of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and housing societies, and the inauguration was bestowed upon it by eminent speakers Shri Sabyasachi Dhar, Director & Head Kolkata Branch Office-1, BIS, and Shri S. Raha, President of the ACAD Block Resident Welfare Association, who highlighted the need for quality and safety in daily life, during which participants were made aware of the BIS care app and the process to check the license number on ISI-marked products and the HUID number on Hallmarked gold jewelry through the app, and the event also comprised a Quiz Contest based on BIS followed by a cultural performance, adding an element of colours, and more importantly, BIS also utilized this platform to reach out to the government officials at the district and state headquarters levels to emphasize the importance of purchasing BIS-certified products in government procurement processes, with the Manak Mitra campaign, led by more than 75 BIS representatives, hardworking in districts and state headquarters making officials realize the need to include BIS-certified products and support standardization and conformity assessment activities, thereby reinforcing the importance of quality standards in ensuring the safety and well-being of consumers and making everyone's life more reliable and trustworthy.
