News Desk, News Nation 360: The Moyna Block Administration held a stakeholders' meeting at the BDO Office Conference Hall to take measures to prevent drowning cases at the grassroots level, with the technical support and field experience of Child In Need Institute (CINI) and UK based organization 'Royal National Lifeboat Institution' (RNLI). The meeting organized under the able leadership of Moyna Block Development Officer Shri Jagannath Biswas, Panchayat Samiti Sabhapati Shri Goutam Guru, Zilla Parishad Member Shri Abhijit Adhok and Drowning Prevention Mentoring Team member Dr. Partha Sarathi Giri with best wishes of ADM (Development) Shri Prasanta Chakraborty saw the convergence of local administrative bodies, ICDS workers, Police, Teachers, Child Parliament members and workers to chalk out a plan of action to identify water bodies prone to accidents and establish response mechanisms; the gravity of the situation was highlighted by a grandmother and a mother who lost two of their young ones in a drowning incident a few days back who were present at the meeting along with their surviving children who were made to demonstrate infant and child CPR by ASHA workers and Civil Defence Volunteers trained in non contact methods of water rescues to sensitize the village folk on drowning prevention and management.
