News Desk, News Nation 360: Malabar Group, parent of Malabar Gold & Diamonds, signed an LOI with West Bengal government to formalize a multi-sectoral CSR partnership for a targeted ₹20 crore social welfare commitment for FY 2026–27 in alignment with the state’s centralized CSR Projects Facilitation Unit and State CSR Council, shared at a recent meeting with Finance Minister Dr. Swapan Dasgupta, led by Malabar Gold & Diamonds heads Regional Head (East India) Thahsil Ahammed, Manufacturing Head Sajid N K and Senior Manager (CSR) Shabeer P K, that saw the conglomerate’s grassroots outreach via the Malabar Charitable Trust (MCT) and implementing partner Daya Rehabilitation Trust (Thanal) that runs 297 Micro Learning Centres educating 11,873 children, 500 girl child scholarships, 500 Ujjwala artisan scholarships for Karigar youth, 1,200 daily meals, mobile street health services and 629 drinking water wells across the state, reflecting on the state pact in tandem with the brand’s larger nationwide ₹200 crore CSR allocation for FY 2026–27 spanning education (₹114 cr), poverty alleviation (₹30 cr), shelter (₹25 cr), healthcare (₹14.2 cr) and humanitarian relief (₹16.8 cr), as per Malabar Group Chairman MP Ahammed, who said convergence with the state administration will catalyze impactful welfare, including plans for a dedicated 60-occupant Grandma Home for destitute elderly women and 80 Samman Awas houses built specifically to uplift marginalized jewelry artisan households in Bengal.
