News Desk, News Nation 360: Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) India has launched the recently introduced EC650 – a heavy-duty 65-tonne (65T) class mining excavator – at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Greater Noida, which marks a significant step in expanding its range of heavy-duty equipment suitable for challenging mass-excavation and quarrying applications. With its proven 435 hp Volvo D13E engine, enhanced undercarriage, heavy-duty boom and arm, and advanced high-efficiency hydraulic systems, the 650 series flagship is immediately available for customer delivery to meet the opening of the mining procurement cycle, and is offered via Volvo’s flexible Equipment-as-a-Service (EaaS) operating model to ease entry cost barriers for mid-sized players. Positioned within an application-focused exhibition showcase that also highlighted the EC210, EC215, EC220, EC300, SD110, DD90 and the zero-emission L120 Electric Wheel Loader in the Construction Zone, and the EC480, EC650 and L150 in the Mining Zone, the launch supports the overall ‘Aaj Banayein Kal’ (Let’s Build Tomorrow, Today) campaign by Volvo CE India aligned to Viksit Bharat infrastructure vision; commenting on the launch, Managing Director Dimitrov Krishnan said that as Indian mining activity reaches unprecedented levels and intensities, the EC650 offers the shifts-long reliability, operator responsiveness and fuel economy required by modern site economics, supported by connected telematics and repair agreements throughout the lifecycle, and ongoing R&D investment at the company’s Technology Centre in Bengaluru.
