West Bengal Natya Academy Provided Financial Support for the 8th Dum Dum Oichik Drama Festival

News Desk, News Nation 360: The 8th Drama Festival of Dum Dum Oichik, supported by the West Bengal Natya Academy, was held on February 21-22, 2026, at Ajitesh Mancha, Nagerbazar. The festival was formally inaugurated by the renowned critic Shri Ranjan Gangopadhyay and the veteran theatre personality Professor Kuntal Mukhopadhyay. The festival featured a mix of

performances over the two days, beginning with a dance performance by Sudatta Saha. The highlights of the festival included the new production by Dum Dum Oichik, titled 'Kejurir Kichcha,' directed by Kingshuk Chakraborty, which drew appreciation for its social relevance and skilful direction. Their other production, 'Bish Basanta,' directed by Subrata Sengupta, explored the

psychological aspects of the mind of a child. The other performances included 'Madhubangshir Gali' by Nahali, 'Diptashikha' by Natmahal, 'Dandapanir Danda' by Srishti Salkia, among others, including 'Kejurir Kichcha' by Dum Dum Oichik, which drew appreciation for its social relevance and skilful direction, while their other production 'Bish Basanta' was directed.
