News Desk, News Nation 360: A crucial corporate social responsibility initiative to support children with lifelong thalassaemia was established when the Merlin Group and renowned international real estate consulting firm CBRE collaborated to organise a very successful corporate blood drive at the Acropolis Mall commercial office block complex in Kolkata. 48 corporate tower employees enthusiastically and spontaneously participated in the life-saving wellness camp, which was organised in collaboration with the World Trade Centre Salt Lake as the Sustainability Partner and carried out in close coordination with the National Thalassaemia Welfare Society and the Federation of Blood Organisations of India (FBDOI). In order to ensure a safe, sterile, and seamless collection process that complies with stringent national medical safety protocols, skilled clinical professionals from the Central Blood Bank (IBTNI Kolkata) performed required haemoglobin screenings, blood group grouping, and individualised patient counselling before extraction. This high-impact healthcare initiative, spearheaded by Subhadip Basu, Corporate General Manager of Retail & Hospitality at Merlin Group, is the most recent addition to CBRE's multi-city wellness portfolio after similar successful rollouts in Pune, Gurgaon, and Bengaluru. It actively channels vital transfusion reserves to the National Thalassaemia Welfare Society to maintain a steady, safe supply of blood products for patients in West Bengal who require regular, life-sustaining medical interventions.
