News Desk, News Nation 360: On July 17, 2026, the 8th National Conference of the Robotic Urology Forum (RUF) was officially opened at The Westin Kolkata Rajarhat. More than 300 leading robotic urologists, oncological surgeons, and medical researchers came together to host the first-ever national summit on advanced robot-assisted urological care in Eastern India. The high-profile, three-day convention, led by Organising Secretary Dr Tarun Jindal (Consultant Uro-Oncologist & Robotic Surgeon at Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata), features groundbreaking clinical data about minimally invasive treatments, like radical prostatectomy and radical cystectomy, which significantly improve patient outcomes by lowering intraoperative blood loss, reducing hospital recovery times, and maintaining long-term functional quality of life when compared to open surgeries. Supported by RUF Secretary Dr Ravimohan (Professor of Urology at PGIMER, Chandigarh) and President Dr Anant Kumar (Chairman of Urology & Robotics at Max Hospital, Delhi), the scientific sessions' primary intellectual focus is on the groundbreaking integration of Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into contemporary surgical platforms. These cutting-edge systems enable clinicians to analyse complicated procedures in real time, significantly reduce human error, and improve anatomical accuracy by utilising machine learning models, predictive data analytics, and objective computer-driven performance metrics. This effectively establishes a highly transparent, peer-collaborative blueprint to scale the safety and accessibility of personalised robotic healthcare nationwide.
