The story develops into a poignant friendship between Khona and Mihir, which eventually blossoms into love, while also emphasising the ongoing battle of wits between Khona's innate intelligence and Barahadeb's famed wisdom. Priyanka Bardia, Director, Aakash Aath, stated that the timeskip is a watershed moment for Khonar Kahini.
