News Desk, News Nation 360 : Bank of Baroda, one of India's biggest public sector banks, has opened its first physical branch in Kolkata at the NSB Airport Branch, located within the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. The phygital branch will change the customer experience by seamlessly merging self-service and assisted service models to fulfil customers' different needs. Bank of Baroda has already launched seven physical branches around the country, each with self-service kiosks, a Video Contact Centre for non-financial services, and Universal Service Desks for in-person customer support. The Bank also opened its all-new e-Lobby in Kestopur. Commenting on the occasion, Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, stated that they are thrilled to open their first phygital branch in Kolkata, and the seventh across the country. This new branch model offers a big step forward in reimagining the customer experience by integrating digital enablement with personalised support based on particular customer preferences. Bank of Baroda's physical locations help them improve client service, convenience, and engagement. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda, opened the Phygital branch in the presence of Sanjay Tiwary, General Manager & Zonal Head - Kolkata Zone; Sandeep Kumar, Regional Head; and other top bank officials and employees from the Zone and Region. Bank of Baroda's new Phygital branches blend digital and physical banking to provide improved services. Important features include Self-Service Kiosks featuring interactive touch screens for services such as PAN updation, email account statements, TDS certificates, and updation of nominees. There is a Video Contact Centre through which customers can directly access assistance on non-personalised and non-financial services like inquiries on loans and deposits. Along with these, Universal Service Desks also offer an end-to-end solution for banking requirements in person. The Kolkata Zone is Bank of Baroda's major commercial centre in West Bengal, having four Regional Offices under its jurisdiction and operating a network of 258 offices, a major 33% of which are rural and semi-urban branches of the state.
