Entire villages have been submerged, and hundreds of people are missing. The tragedy has disproportionately affected Bengali, Assamese, and migrant laborers from Jharkhand, with a significant loss of life reported among these communities. The Bharat Sevashram Sangha's Trivandrum branch has
initiated rescue and relief operations in the affected areas, including Churamala Meppadi, Mundakai, Chaliyar, Pattukali, Nilambur, and Chambutara. Swami Biswatmananda Maharaj, the General Secretary of Bharat Sevashram Sangha, has described the situation as dire. Access to the affected areas is severely hampered due to road damage and landslides. Survivors are facing a desperate situation, lacking essential necessities like shelter, food, and clothing. The organization is appealing for continued support to aid the distressed population.
