BOGS will Highlight Women's Empowerment at the BOGSCON 49 Public Forum

News Desk, News Nation 360 : As part of its 49th Annual Conference, BOGSCON 49, which is set for December 19–21, 2025, in Kolkata, the Bengal Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (BOGS) will hold a special Public Forum on "Saving Women’s Lives and Awareness," reaffirming its unwavering dedication to women’s health and empowerment. Dr M. M. Samsuzzoha, President of BOGS, and Dr Tulika Jha, Honorary Secretary of BOGS, will lead the forum. They will discuss the Society's strategic vision and ongoing efforts to improve women's access to high-quality healthcare, with an emphasis on marginalised and underserved populations. The esteemed panel at BOGSCON 49 consists of highly respected medical professionals, such as Dr Dibyendu Banerjee & Dr Sebanti Goswami, in addition to key representatives from the education, social, media, and cultural

sectors, including Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Calcutta; Kasturi Raha, President, Calcutta Club, renowned film personality & rights activist, Debleena Dutt, Priyanka Roy, T2 Assistant Editor, The Times of India, and Abhijit Ganguly, From Beyond Academics. These sessions at the event centre around awareness-driven intervention steps that help avoid life-threatening situations in women. These sessions showcase the need for education and promotion around preventive and reproductive health. Additionally, these also revolve around the collective responsibility that institutions and the larger social scenario have toward empowering women in health choices. The annual event, BOGSCON 49, is the flagship convention organised by BOGS. This event anticipates registration from over 1,200 gynaecologists. Their 2025-2026 edition engages with the theme ‘Saving Women’s Lives: From Awareness to Action.’ This particular theme indicates that the Society has spent considerable time and energy in translating its medical knowledge and voices into actual health outcomes. BOGS celebrates 90+ Years of Unsolicited Service. There are also successes in community outreach programs by the Society. This has helped generate 800 free cervical cancer vaccinations. There are also 700 cases of anaemia screenings. Additionally, there are 500 cervical cancer tests. There are also 100 completed breast cancer tests.
