Calcutta Boys’ School Organised The Christmas Cantata Programme

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Calcutta Boys' School's Christmas Cantata concert took place recently in a reverent and happy setting, commemorating Jesus Christ's birth and the school's 148-year history under His leadership. The programme opened with a sombre call to worship, asking God for blessings on the institution and its community. His Grace Dr C. Selvin, Bishop of the Lucknow Episcopal Area of the Methodist Church in India and Chairman of the CBS Group of Schools, officiated over the ceremony. Sonarpur, Beliaghata, and Main campuses then performed meaningful musical enactments of the nativity, spreading the message of hope and joy through a presentation of "The Promise" ('Echoes of the Promise' by Sonarpur; The Promise Divine by Beliaghata and 'Fulfilment of the Promise' by the Main Campus), reminding the audience of Jesus Christ's life and sacrifice. Several distinguished guests attended, including MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay, MLA Naina Bandyopadhyay, MLA Manoj Tiwari, MLA Swarna Kamal Saha, Lovely Shanti Selvin, President of the Regional Deaconesses Conference, Dr Maria Fernandes, Vice Chair of the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation, Kaushik Saha, IAS, and Gerry Arathoon, former CE&S, CISCE. In his address, Bishop C Selvin emphasised that God’s love and blessings remain ever-present. He stated that they've met here on the main campus of the Calcutta Boys' School to celebrate the true spirit of Christmas. On this occasion, they thank God for allowing them to spread His mercy and share His message of love with everyone.
