CenturyPly Commissioned the First Commercial Dispatch from its AP plant by Doubling its MDF Capacity

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The start of Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) commercial dispatch from its recently inaugurated 100% subsidiary Century Panels Limited at Badvel, YSR Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, signalled a historic milestone in the company's journey. Century Plyboards is India's largest manufacturer of wood panels and decorative industry. The brand has responded by increasing its MDF capacity from 900 to 1900 CBM. Although the majority of CenturyPly's businesses are expanding by double digits, MDF is expanding at a rapid rate of more than 20%, which presents a significant opportunity for growth in this market. The capacity for MDF was started at 3,13,500 CBM in Badvel, Andhra Pradesh. Other capacities were also launched, including 60,000 CBM for plywood in Hoshiarpur, Punjab; 2,40,000 CBM for particle board in Chennai, Tamil Nadu; and 8,55,000 sheets and 15,000 tonnes of PVC for laminates, both in Badvel, Andhra Pradesh. The market is starting to accept MDF usage more frequently than plywood. Particle board and MDF are two examples of products that are under-penetrating the Indian market along with the expansion of the real estate industry and will help boost the brand. The new initiative from CenturyPly is bringing development to the YSR Kadapa district, which has the potential to become the agro-industry hub of Andhra Pradesh. On December 23, 2023, the brand established a laminate, MDF, and PVC unit in Andhra Pradesh with a budgeted investment of Rs. 1000 crores for the 100-acre greenfield project. The production and commercial dispatch of MDFs at the unit has given a flying start to the second phase of operational production, which boasts an investment of INR 700 crores, solely for MDFs. The first phase of production included two large-size laminate presses. The brand also hopes to create direct and indirect jobs for more than 2000 people in the Andhra Pradesh region over the next three to five years.
